Forgotten Memories
Whenever you see a sword do you think of this promise? “ Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth? I did not come to bring peace but a sword” Matthew 10:34.
Whenever you see drops of sweat running down someone’s face do you remember Gethsemane? “Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground” Luke 22:44.
Whenever you see a handsaw, a desk, a door, a table, a chair, a cabinet etc. do you remember Jesus as a wood worker? “Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” Mark 6:3.
Whenever you see green grass do you remember Christ as the Good Shepherd? “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep” John 10:11. “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures…” Psalm 23:1-2.
Whenever you see a pillow do you remember that “the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head” Luke 9:58.
Whenever you see a loaf of bread do you remember Jesus as “… the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world” John 6:51.
Whenever you see light do you acknowledge that Jesus is “the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world” John 1:9.
Whenever you hear the word “TRUTH” do you associate it with Jesus? “I am … the truth …” John 14:6.
Whenever you hear the word “DEATH” remember these words? “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death” Revelation 1:18.
Whenever you see someone spit do you remember that He through whom all was your created was spit at? “ They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again” Matthew 27:30.
Whenever you see a dead body “ I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26.
Whenever you drive down a roadway or walk down a pathway did you know that Jesus is “… the way... No one comes to the Father except through…” HIM John 14:6.
Whenever you see a doctor do you remember that “Jesus went about all the cities and villages… healing every sickness and every disease among the people” Matthew 9:35.
Whenever you see, smell, or taste vinegar do you remember that it was the drink offered to Jesus in place of water? “A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips” John 19:29.
Whenever you hear the words “I am” coming out of someone’s lips do you remember Jesus as the “I AM” Jesus said to them “ Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM” John 8:58.
Whenever you see a lamb do you remember the words of John the Baptist? “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29.
Whenever you walk by, visit, or study in a school do you remember Christ Jesus as the “Teacher” who washed the feet of His students? “You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. 14 "If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet” John 13:13-14.
Whenever you see, drink, or bathe in water do think of this promise? “ whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life ” John 4:14.
Whenever you see a crown either laying down, on someone’s head, or on a Hallmark’s logo do you remember the crown that the Messiah humbly accepted to wear in order to redeem you (a wretched sinner)? “They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, 29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said” Matthew 27:28-29
Whenever you see blood do you think of this promise “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28
Whenever you open a door do you think of this promise “I am the door . If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture” John 10:9.
Whenever you view or enter a mansion do you think of this promise “In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2
Whenever you see a tree by your house, in the park, by the highway do you remember this unique, exceptional, unimaginative, incomprehensible, unexplainable sacrifice? “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. 31Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins” Acts 5:30-31.
Whether you are eating, drinking, singing, preaching, whatever you do, do it all for the Glory of God. Live today as if it was the last day you will live for and in Christ.
