Exit At Your Own Risk

The gate is narrow. The path is narrow. The more resistant you are is the more challenging it becomes for you to enter and remain on the narrow path to heaven. The more you doubt is the more you will fail to believe that you will ever reach the finish line. This path is quite similar to a highway where your person may be viewed as the vehicle traveling on it. Before entering this path, you will be equipped with an error-free GPS system (Holy Spirit), an OnStar operator and communicator (Holy Spirit). If you are willing to be persecuted and put through trials you will remain on the ‘Eternal Road’ until you reach it.

Because this is a very long journey you will have to refuel (prayer) several times before completing the course. At times, you may have to enter a rest area (fasting from all that take the place of God). Your engine may need a tune-up (week of prayer). You may lack oil in your engine (baptism of the Holy Spirit). You may need road side assistance in case your vehicle breaks down (discouragement); but the Comforter will recharge your battery for He will know your exact location on the road:

If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast” (Psalm 139:8-10) .

You may hesitate in “Deer Zones”; however, the Angel of the Lord will grant you protection “ The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them(Psalm 34:7).

You will encounter many businesses of ‘temptation’ alongside the road (Go-go girls, O’Neill’s Lounge & Bar, Bingo Halls, Lottery sellers, Casino, Prostitutes, Drug sellers, Tarot Readers etc.); nevertheless, quickly flee from these traps of the enemy.

13 Let no one say when he is tempted,I am being tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust” (James 1:13-14) .

Fear may find a way to penetrate your soul when the thick darkness of the road cannot be overcome by your vehicle’s halogen headlights; hang on for “ there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…” (I John 4:18).

  1. Be mindful of your speed (law breaking)

  2. Refrain from any aggressive driving (impatience)

  3. Be kind to hitch hikers (love your enemies)

  4. Assist others who may have been involved in an accident (Good Samaritan)

  5. If you drive a truck do not run a compact car off the road (don’t be a Pharisee).

Whenever you encounter various types of storms (trials) whether it be a tornado, snow blizzards, heavy rain, hail, thunder, and lightning, flying sand or dust behave as an eagle in the midst of the storm

Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; They will mount up (‘over the storms’) with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary” (Isaiah 40:31).

Be diligent and resilient when choosing to exit the ‘Eternal Road’ for you will encounter many types of exits: DEAD END, DETOUR, BY PASS, Amusement Parks, Entertainment Centers etc. Do not find yourself among those who “have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness” (II Peter 2:15).

Even though you no longer see a sign with the road's name, you will need to believe that you are on the right road (faith). If you have chosen to exit, parked your car, and remained on these dangerous and misleading roads you can always choose to return on the ‘Eternal Road’ after realizing that you have been on a sinful road (Prodigal son). All is not lost. There’s always a road available to reconnect you to the ‘Eternal Road.’ Forget not that the GPS (Holy Spirit) you were supplied with will never fail to guide you back to the ‘Eternal Road.’ If you were to die while driving on the ‘Eternal Road’ He who is the ‘Life Giver’ had already made arrangement to exhume and bring your dead body back to life on resurrection day. Remember always to respect the unchanging codes (God’s commandments) of the ‘Eternal Road.’ FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELT!!!
